U.S. Consular Agent in San Miguel de Allende

The U.S. Consular Agent in San Miguel de Allende is available to assist the Embassy in serving its constituents in Guanajuato, Mexico.  The Consular Agent can perform notarial services, accept first –time passport applications, renewals and Consular Report of Birth Abroad requests as well as provide any necessary assistance that U.S. citizens should need in the area.          

Additionally, the Consular Agent can answer questions on a wide range of matters, can direct inquiries to the appropriate U.S. or Mexican authorities, can provide a list of local attorneys should an individual require legal consultation and, in the case of an emergency, can communicate relief needs to the U.S. Embassy.

Please note all passport and CRBA applications will be sent to the U.S. Embassy for adjudication.  U.S. citizens who need passports for emergency travel should apply directly at the U.S. Embassy.
